The Parting: Set up

Nancy believed with all of her heart that loving her son would make him better. She was certain that through love, prayer, support, listening, and compassion, he could leave the war behind him. Charlotte believed Jack would one day be healed but had serious reservations about how soon it would happen. Jack hoped the images would leave. He was still a little unnerved by the dream he had a few weeks ago. John knew he loved his big brother but was uncomfortable around him whenever Jack was stressed. Consequently, he felt helpless and unsure what to do. MIA and JoJo believed that alcohol helped take the edge off and made every day life easier to handle.

Bob felt that starting a serious relationship with Samantha wasn’t the right thing to do but, despite his reservations, felt flattered she expressed an interest in him. It gave him a boost. After more conversation and time together, Samantha felt the positive influence Bob had on her life. She wanted to attend church with him and was awed by the beauty of his singing voice. He was a man of integrity and that was odd for men in her life.

Pastor Bill continued to care for his flock. As he prepared for the Advent season, he believed God would show Himself in a new and mighty way.
